Analisis Kesalahan Peserta Didik Tunagrahita dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Matematika

Abstract


This study aims to analyze the errors of mentally retarded students in solving math problems and the factors that cause mental retardation students' errors in solving math problems. This research is a type of qualitative research using descriptive method. This research was conducted at Tamansari State SLB, Tasikmalaya City. The research subjects were taken from students with mental retardation in class VII and then 6 research subjects were taken, the subject selection was purposive. Data collection techniques consist of tests and interviews. The supporting instruments used are test questions and interviews. Data analysis techniques consist of data reduction, data presentation, and verification. Based on the research results, mentally retarded students made mistakes, namely factual errors made mistakes not writing down what was known in the problem, not writing down what was asked in the question, there was an error in writing down what was known in the question, incomplete in writing what was known in the question, not complete in writing what is asked in the problem, and errors in writing mathematical symbols; conceptual error makes an error in determining the formula, and the error cannot determine the formula; procedural errors make mistakes in solving math problems, and mistakes don't write down the steps in solving math problems. The factors that cause intellectual disability students' errors in solving math problems are not being thorough in working on the questions, lack of practice in solving problems about arithmetic operations, have not mastered the material, and do not understand the meaning of the questions given.
