Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Peserta Didik dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Matematika Nalaria Ditinjau dari Habits Of Mind

Abstract


The purpose of this study was to describe students' mathematical communication skills in solving mathematical reasoning problems in terms of habits of mind. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique used was filling out a habits of mind questionnaire, mathematical communication skills tests and interviews. The instruments used are the researchers themselves, habits of mind questionnaire, mathematical communication skills test questions and interview transcripts. The actors in the study were based on the habits of mind category of class VIII-D students which were taken purposively. Data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of this study indicate that: Students with habits of mind in the beginner category with indicators that appear to think and communicate clearly and precisely, are only able to express everyday events into mathematical ideas. Students with limited categories of habits of mind with indicators that appear to persist or never give up, are able to express everyday events into mathematical ideas, explain mathematical ideas in writing, make conjectures or proofs. Students with habits of mind in the development category with indicators that appear enthusiastic in responding, able to express everyday events into mathematical ideas, link mathematical ideas into pictures, explain mathematical ideas in writing, make conjectures or proofs.
