Abstract
This study aims to discuss the philosophy contained in the sea alms culture on the Cilacap coast, and the mathematical aspects that exist in the sea alms culture on the Cilacap coast. This study uses a qualitative research method with an ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. Sources of data were taken from the Chair of the Fisherman Group, Elders in the Cilacap area, and the Deputy Chair of the DPC HNSI Cilacap as resource persons who understood sea alms in the Cilacap coast. The research instrument consisted of the researcher as the main instrument, interview guide, observation guide, documentation guide. Data analysis techniques using data analysis models according to Miles and Huberman, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions (conclusion drawing/verification). The results showed that: (1) The sea alms culture on the coast of Cilacap contains 15 philosophies, namely: eliminating ignorance, high spirit of life, eliminating pride, the human heart thirsts to be strong, always remembering Allah SWT, always doing good, maintaining chastity, Sedulur papat limo pancer, remembering that living humans will die, good deeds should not be exhibited, ngaduning pangrasa (complaint feelings), ojo kelalen (don't forget one's own culture), humans must be able to control themselves, do not forget their own culture, always organize their thoughts, if they have the determination they must round.
