Study Etnomatematika Dalam Anyaman Kerajinan Bambu Di Desa Salawu

Abstract

Bamboo weaving is a woven craft made from bamboo which is a cultural heritage that is still preserved today in Tasikmalya district, one of which is in Salawu Village. This craft contains mathematical concepts in the craft of tolombong weaving, karawang weaving, and matai tik waving. The aims of this research is to discuss the mathematical concepts contained in bamboo woven crafts. This research is qualitative research with ethnographic approach. The data collection techniques used were observation and unstructured interviews. This research was conducted on bamboo woven craftsmen in Salawu Village. The data analysis technique uses the data analysis model according to Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that (1) there is a philosophy in bambbo woven crafts, namely in tolombong woven products, sieves, and community activities in the process of making woven materials which are connected to life as a way of life. (2). There are mathematical concepts contained in tolombong woven crafts including rotation, flat shapes, and aritmatic sequences, karawng woven crafts include reflection, translation, and congruence, and mata itik crafts include reflection. (3) there are mathematical aesthetic values contained in woven bamboo crafts, which are divided into three, namely integrity of perfection, proportion or harmony, and brightness of clarity.
