Analisis Kemampuan Abstraksi Matematis Ditinjau dari Self Regulated Learning pada Peserta Didik SMP

Abstract


This study aims to describe the mathematical abstraction abilities viewed from self-regulated learning (SRL) in junior high school school students. It is a qualitative research using an explorative method. The subjects are eighth-grade students from SMPN 12 Tasikmalaya who fulfills all indicators of mathematical abstraction abilities and answer correctly. Data collection methods include mathematical abstraction ability tests, SRL questionnaires, and interviews. Data analysis techniques involve data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The instruments used are mathematical abstraction ability test questions and SRL questionnaires. The results show that three students met all indicators and answered correctly. These students could transform problems into symbols, create equivalent equations, relate concepts, generalize, and create equations according to given situations. The three subjects had different levels of SRL: high, medium, and low.
