Abstract

This research aims to describe the number sense of students based on habits of mind. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection techniques used were number sense test, habits of mind questionnaire, and interview. The subjects in this study were based on the category of habits of mind of students in class VII-B who were taken purposively. Data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study show: Learners with beginner category habits of mind have only relating and representing components of number sense. Learners with development category habits of mind have three number sense components namely quantity, counting, and relating. Learners with advanced category habits of mind with quantity, counting, relating, and representing components.
