Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Interaktif Desmos pada materi persamaan kuadrat

Abstract


Desmos is a web-based application accessible via www.desmos.com. It allows teachers to create virtual classrooms, design learning activities, and assign tasks to students through its activity feature, which can be managed at http://teacher.desmos.com/. This study aimed to develop Desmos-based activities for quadratic functions and evaluate their effectiveness in teaching this topic, tested on tenth-grade students at MTsS Ar-Rahmah. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach, following the ADDIE model. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and product trials. The findings indicated that Desmos activities for teaching quadratic functions were deemed unsuitable for use at MTsS Ar-Rahmah due to a lack of effectiveness. This was primarily because students faced challenges in exploring Desmos activities, as they could only access the platform via smartphones. Since Desmos activities are better suited for use on laptops, students struggled to complete test questions effectively without proper support from the platform. However, the potential remains for Desmos activities to be tested or implemented in other schools with different resources and conditions.
