Abstract

This problem is based on the ability of mathematical connections junior high school students are still low, therefore carried out a study on the implementation of cooperative learning model TPS-based open-ended approach to the study of mathematics. The purpose of this penlitian is to explore whether an increase in the ability to connect mathematical students who had learning of mathematics using cooperative learning model TPS (Think Pair Share) based approach to open-ended better than students who received models of conventional learning and see repon students to the model cooperative learning TPS (Think Pair Share) .This method used in this study is an experiment. The population in this study were all students of class VII in one of the Junior High School in Bandung. While the sample is chosen randomly, so that the selected class as a class VII D, VII F as the control and the experimental class. The instrument used was an instrument proficiency test students' mathematical connection which is based indicators according Kusumah connection capabilities. The results showed that the ability of students obtain mathematical connection cooperative learning model TPS (Think Pair Share) through an open-ended approach is no better than students who received conventional learning models.
