Abstract


The purpose of this research is to know the increase of mathematical problem solving ability of learners whose learning with Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model and direct learning model and also to know the habits of mind of learners during studying mathematics with Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model. The research method used is a quasi-experiment method. The population is all learners of class VII State Junior High School 1 Sariwangi as much as 169 learners. The samples were taken 2 classes randomly by class, and was elected class VII A, which using Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model and class VII C using Direct Learning model. The data collecting technique is testing the mathematical problem solving ability and share habits of mind questionnaires to learners. The research instrument used is the questions of mathematical problem solving ability test and habits of mind questionnaires. The data analysis technique used to test the hypothesis with two different test averages. Based on the research, the conclusion of this research is the increase of mathematical problem solving ability of learners that using Creative Problem Solving (CPS) and habits of mind of learners during the learning of mathematics by using this models belong to the high interpretation.
