Pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat melalui budidaya ikan nila

Abstract

Specific purpose and target of community service activities in the food security scheme (PbM-KP) is to grow the will of the community of the Mekar Jaya Farmer Group, Bojonggedang Village, Rancah District, Ciamis Regency, which has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to cultivate tilapia.  The survival of the farmer group community there is the basis for food security activities so that the community can regain hope to be able to meet the needs of their family life as usual. Existence of restrictions on the movement of people's steps to engage in activities outside their territory and meet consumers directly makes the wheels of the community's economy stagnate.  The impact on the community's income which continues to decrease is a problem that is raised in this PbM-KP activity.  Therefore, it is necessary to have leverage that can stimulate the community to carry out activities that provide economic benefits. The results of the initial survey found that in the last 2 years due to the Covid-19 outbreak, many community ponds were left abandoned and not filled (empty) due to the inability to buy fish seeds and feed, which are increasingly expensive.  So that in order to revive the community's fisheries sector, activities that can grow food security in the long term and can be implemented as soon as possible are needed.  Therefore, community empowerment training through tilapia cultivation is felt to provide a good stimulus, so that in the future it can be continued independently which in turn can realize community food security.
