Analisis kemampuan berpikir logis matematis pada materi statistika berdasarkan gaya kognitif

Abstract


This research aims to analyze students' mathematical logical thinking abilities based on field dependent and field independent cognitive styles. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques in this research were administering logical thinking ability tests, distributing the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT), and unstructured interviews. The research instruments used were the logical thinking ability test and the GEFT instrument. The subjects of this research consisted of 2 students from each cognitive style who met the indicators of logical thinking ability regardless of right and wrong answers with the highest GEFT scores. Qualitative data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Based on the research results, it was found that: 1) the S25FD's logical thinking ability meets the indicators of coherent thinking correctly, but there are errors in the indicators of the ability to argue and drawing conclusions, 2) the logical thinking ability of the S17FI is able to meet the indicators of coherent thinking and the ability to argue correctly, as well as the indicators drawing conclusions S17FI is able to provide the final answer correctly.
