Evaluasi Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif Matematis Peserta Didik dengan Menyimak Minat Belajar

Abstract


The objective of this study is to examine the mathematical creative thinking abilities of students categorized by their levels of interest in learning—whether high, medium, or low. The research was conducted at the junior high school level, focusing on the Two Variable Linear Equation System, a topic previously covered by the students. This qualitative research employs explorative methods and targets grade IX students from SMP Negeri 1 Puspahiang in the academic year 2022/2023. The data collection instruments include the researcher (writer), test questions assessing mathematical creative thinking abilities, and learning interest questionnaires. The findings of the study reveal that students across high, medium, and low learning interest categories exhibit competence in five indicators of mathematical creative thinking: fluency, flexibility, originality, elaboration, and evaluation. Noteworthy differences are observed in the fluency indicator, where students with high learning interest demonstrate a greater ability to generate multiple alternative answers more quickly, with a settlement process that tends to be swifter. Additionally, variations are noted in the elaboration indicator, with students displaying high and medium learning interests showcasing detailed, thorough, and systematic approaches in presenting solutions to problems. In contrast, students with low learning interest tend to rush through problem-solving, resulting in incomplete and less detailed completion steps.
