Pendekatan Kepribadian Florence Littauer dalam Menganalisis Proses Berpikir Peserta Didik dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Matematika

Abstract


This study aims to explain how learners use their thinking process in solving mathematics problems by considering Florence Littauer's personality type. The research method used was qualitative with an explorative approach. Data were obtained through math problem solving tests, Florence Littauer personality type questionnaires, and unstructured interviews. The instruments used included the problem solving test questions and the Florence Littauer personality type questionnaire. The research participants were students who could solve problem solving problems by following the four stages, namely understanding the problem, developing a plan, implementing the plan, and checking back, according to the dominant personality type identified through the Florence Littauer questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results showed that learners with sanguinis, melancholic, choleric, and phlegmatic personality types showed differences in their thought processes during formation, plan development, plan execution, and inference. For example, learners with melancholic and sanguinis types are able to take different approaches in solving problems.
