Analisis Kesalahan Peserta Didik Dalam Pemecahan Soal Kemampuan Spasial Pada Pokok Bahasan Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar Ditinjau Dari Gaya Belajar Menurut Konsep David Kolb

Abstract


The primary objective of this research is to examine and elucidate the errors made by students, as identified by Newman, when tackling questions related to spatial ability concerning flat-sided geometric shapes, taking into account David Kolb's learning styles. The study was carried out in class IX F SMPN 2 PARIGI, utilizing a qualitative descriptive research method. The research tools encompass spatial ability test questions, David Kolb's learning style questionnaire, and interview guidelines. Subject selection was contingent upon students successfully addressing all spatial ability questions, committing Newman errors corresponding to each type of David Kolb learning style, and exhibiting effective communication skills. The data analysis involved techniques such as data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The findings revealed that among the participants, one subject demonstrated a diverging learning style (S-9) and encountered errors, beginning with comprehension errors; two subjects exhibited an assimilator learning style (S-18 and S-19) with errors in encoding and commencing from process skill errors. A single subject with a converging learning style (S-4) made errors originating from process skill errors; and three subjects with an accommodating learning style (S-12, S-15, and S-16) experienced errors in encoding, commencing from process skill errors, and commencing from comprehension errors.
