Abstract


The purpose of this study was to find out: a positive correlation between learning independence and students 'mathematical problem solving abilities through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model, a positive correlation between learning motivation and students' mathematical problem solving abilities through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model and Positive correlation between independence and motivation to learn with mathematical problem solving abilities of students through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The research method used is the correlation research method. The population in this study were all students of class VII of SMP Negeri 15 Tasikmalaya which numbered 9 classes. Samples were taken randomly and selected class VII-E which amounted to 25 students. The results showed that there was a positive correlation between learning independence and students 'mathematical problem solving abilities through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model, there was a positive correlation between learning motivation and students' mathematical problem solving abilities through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model and there was a correlation positive between independence and motivation to learn with mathematical problem solving abilities of students through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model.
