Author Guidelines
Bioedusiana: Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi accepts manuscripts based on the results of recent research in the field of biology education and education in general, whether done with a quantitative or qualitative approach. Subjects or respondents involved can come from primary to tertiary education whether from formal, informal, or non-formal education.
Manuscripts are written in Indonesian or English. Language and grammar are among the accepted orders for manuscripts. The author suggests checking carefully so it is necessary to activate the Proofing Tools feature in the Ms. application. Word used, and if necessary use proofreader services. The ethics of scientific papers is highly respected in receiving manuscripts, one of which is avoiding plagiarism or plagiarism of other people's works. Editors of Bioedusiana Journal check every level of each manuscript using plagiarism checker software with no more than 20%.
The actual body of the article includes 4,000 - 6,000 words including title, abstract, and references. Articles typed with the Ms. application. Word with Calisto MT typeface, size 11pt, and 1.5 line spacing. The beginning of the indented paragraph with a special first-line indentation of 1.27. Manuscripts are typed in one column to facilitate the review process, then saved in .doc format. or .docx. Page numbers do not need to be entered. The body of the article consists of four main parts, namely: introduction, methods, results and discussion, and conclusions and references. Title
The title is Written in as Significant Language and Describe the Main Content of the Text and No More Than 17 Words.
AbstractAbstracts are written in one paragraph using two languages: Indonesian and English. The maximum number of words in an abstract is 250 words. Abstract writing structure must contain several aspects such as 1. Background of the problem; 2. Research objectives; 3. Methods; 4. Results; 5. Conclusion.
Keywords: Written in English 3-5 words or groups of words, written alphabetically.
Introduction
The introduction contains the background of the problem and the deepening of problems regarding the development of previous research (state of the art) to be compared with current research so that a gap appears between the theory or the results of previous research and the current or expected state. Filling in the gap between the results of previous research and the findings of researchers is the delta which shows the contribution of research results to the development of science and technology. So, clearly define the research problem to be solved. The introductory section may end with one or a number of research questions and end with a statement of research objectives. The introduction is written about 20% of the body of the article including the title and abstract.
Methods
The research method contains explanations in the form of paragraphs containing the research approach, subjects or respondents, implementation procedures, use of tools, materials, and instruments, data collection, and analysis techniques, but not in the form of theory. The research method is written brief, concise, and clear, but sufficient so that it can be replicated. Statistical formulas that are commonly used do not need to be written in a script. All specific provisions set by the researcher in order to collect and analyze data are described in the methods section. The method share is written as a maximum of 10% (for qualitative research) or a maximum of 15% (for quantitative research) of the total body of the article.
Results and Discussion
The results of the research are described first and then followed by a discussion to facilitate understanding and reading. Result subtitles and discussion subtitles are presented separately. The results and discussion sections are written as much as 60% of the total body of the article.
Result
The presentation of the results is written in a simple but clear manner by reporting representative data and not raw data. Results can be presented in the form of tables, graphs, verbal descriptions, or a combination of the three. The tables and graphs presented should be referenced in the text. Discussion
The discussion contains an explanation of what the results mean and their implications for future studies, with the intention of interpreting and interpreting the results of the research in accordance with the theory used but does not merely explain the findings. Connect the results with the questions asked in the introduction. If there is more than one research objective, then the writer must sort the chronological form in the discussion by making sub-discussions. Show how the author interprets the information gathered during the investigation, how the relationship between facts observed during the investigation and a collection of established theories or knowledge, formulation of new theories, modification of existing theories, and implications of research results. The author is welcome to state his opinion, whether he agrees or even has a different opinion from previously published works. Conclusions
The conclusion is not a summary of the research results but in the form of meaningful substance. The conclusions contain a collection and summarize the most important results and their implications. Align with the statement on the purpose of the study, but do not need a number or bullet system. In this section, you can add suggestions related to the implementation or results of the research, meaning that you don't make it up in making suggestions. In addition, the prospect of developing research results and future research application prospects can be added.
Acknowledgment
Acknowledgments are addressed to parties who directly contribute to the research, such as sponsors, fund donors, or resource persons and this is not mandatory.
References
Required to use a reference management application such as Mendeley. Using reference management facilitates reference governance and ensures that everything that is referred to in a written article is also in reference, and vice versa. Mandatory references used are at least 20. The percentage of reference materials used is 80% of journal articles, conference proceedings, or research results from the last ten (10) years. Reference writing uses a system model from the American Psychological Association or APA 7th edition.
All citations in the body of the manuscript must be linked to the reference by using the Bookmark feature on the Insert tab in Ms. Word. Furthermore, each reference in the reference must also activate the linking reference to the article referred to on the original site, by activating the Hyperlink feature on Ms. Word is on the Insert tab, so all references in the reference section when clicked will point to their original site on the internet.
