Author Guidelines

Media Pertanian publishes articles covering agricultural science and technology, agronomy, pest and disease science, weed science, agricultural engineering, biodiversity, ecology, biotechnology, forestry, plantation, agricultural microbiology, plant breeding, food science and technology.

Articles must be submitted on the understanding that they have not been published elsewhere and are only being considered by this journal. The submitting author is responsible for ensuring that the article's publication has been approved by all the other co-authors. All inquiries concerning the publication of accepted manuscripts should be addressed to The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format

Writing Format. The article is written in Bahasa or English in 10 -15 pages including tables, graphics and figures. General Provision: page size A4, margin top are 4 cm, bottom are 3 cm, right are 3 cm, left are 4 cm, font Times New Roman size 11, space 1 for title, abstrak and abstract, 1,15 for content, and no footnote in the text. Each new paragraphs including abstrak and abstract written in 7 point indent.

Title and authorship information. The following information should be included: manuscript title, full author names, full institutional mailing addresses and email addresses.

Abstract. The manuscript should contain an abstract. The abstract should be self-contained, citation-free, and should not exceed 250 words.

Introduction. This section should be succinct and foccus, with no subheadings.

Materials and methods. The methods section should provide enough detail for others to be able to replicate the study. Media pertanian journals have no space restriction on methods. If the method from a previous article is used then this article must be cited and discussed. If wording is reused from a published article then this must be noted, e.g. This study uses the method of Jack et al. and the methods description partly reproduces their wording.

Results and discussion. This section may be divided into subsections or may be combined.

Main text (review only). This section may be divided into subsections or may be combined.

Table and Figure. Table and figure are numbered in order (1, 2, 3, ... and more). Table title is written upon the table in a single spacing. Table and graphic information should be made clearly to be understood without reading the text. Figure is made in a contrast black and white.

Conclusions. This should clearly explain the main conclusions of the article, highlighting its importance and relevance.

Acknowledgement. An expression of gratitude is addressed if there are parties who assist with research, and / providers of research fund

Reference. It is not allowed to write reference un-cited in the manuscript. Primary references (journals and proceedings) and actual references (issued in last 10 years) are over 80%. All reference mentioned should be written down alphabetically. in reference using American Physicological Association (APA) system. The author are suggested to use application of reference management such as Mendeley. All data, program code, and other methods should be appropriately cited. Such materials should be recognized as original intellectual contributions and afforded recognition through citation.


Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
